Hmmm... maybe you should bring them back a pretty one if you see any? ________________________ Mews and playful snarls mix with the laughter of kittens, racing back and forth by the water's edge. From time to time eyes that shimmer with the stars reflected in the glassy surface look up to see if the mirror of the lake is broken by a ripple. When they see the calm then return to playing, tackling each other or curling up to sleep. Their world revolves around this pond. Always watchful for a ripple. One of the nights Kaguya visited her husband, she came to bear a litter of cubs, and they learned she was blessed with not one, but two uteruses. Six innocent lives came into the world, their fur a union of star and sea. Kaguya had brought them to the portal as soon as they could see. The calm, safe haven became their playground. Paws clambering over rocks and grass. The first disturbance of the surface had them in awe as their father came to visit his beloved queen. Six sets of eyes watched him as he approached with a warm, friendly chuckle, laying down to greet them. They fell in love with the dance of light over his fur. The shimmer in his eyes. And so they begged to stay here. Forever by the portal, forever they watched. Racing to be the first to great their father and to try and pounce on his tail. Their cries of joy are the herald of her King's return, echoing through the stars. And when the time comes for him to return to the seas, their watch begins again.
