ValeriaDaughter of Xylia {Cubs born into Pride: # | Cubs rejected by the King: #} ● Bio ●Newborn : Valeria is the 103rd cub born to Vesper. She was birthed at night in the beginning of the Dry Season. {Vesper entered Mother's Den with Felice at his side. He was excited at the prospect of another cub being born with the sight. A second soothsayer born in his pride. He knew the odds of that happening so soon after his first one was not in his favor, but it was always possible. He watched Felice lift her chin and her tail curl the moment they passed the threshold of the cavern. The simple action becoming a sign that a miraculous cub had been born. That excitement doubled and rushed through his veins. Could it be? That another one was born? He followed Felice as she made her way to Xylia's nest, where two females were nestled into her belly. Perhaps it was both of them? Vesper could barely contain his excitement.
Xylia was visibly nervous, awkwardly greeting Felice before ignoring Vesper all together. She played with her paws, keeping her gaze glued to them.
Felice touched the first cub with her nose, just as she did with Sybil, but the cub didn't have much of a reaction. She squirmed, continuing her dedicated search for more milk. Felice moved onto her sister, grazing her nose with the cub's pelt. In an alarming cry, that startled Vesper, his daughter sprung awake.
"Oh! I just got her to quiet down." Xylia complained, seeing to her cub as she squirmed violently.
"My apologies. The connection had to be made."
Vesper let out a victorious roar, capturing everyone's attention. "Another Soothsayer has been born!" He exclaimed. It started out small with a roar here and a roar there, but soon the cavern was filled with a symphony of proud roars.
Felice smiled. "I must report back."
"Will you also take her as an apprentice?" He asked.
"Yes. It is an honor to train two Soothsayers. Even more so, that I am able to do so at the same time."
"Thank you Felice."
She shook her spotted head. "Say no more, sire. I will return." And with that she walked out of he cavern, leaving him to bask in the promise of tomorrow.
Young Cub: Valeria liked to strike fear into the hearts of her pride mates. If she tried really hard, she could see glimpses into the future. When she focused hard enough on a particular lion, she could see glimpses into their future. When something appeared unfortunate for them, she'd let them know. Sometimes, she would over exaggerate just for dramatic effect. It was so entertaining to watch them squirm, doubting every step, every choice they made. There was nothing better, even though Felice was trying to teach her otherwise. She warned her that if she continued to prey on her pride mates, she would find herself forever hungry and lacking true nourishment. It left Valeria confused and when she asked the lioness what she meant, she told her to seek the wisdom of Sybil, her sister in sight. She had only met the young lioness once when she smacked Valeria when no one was looking and then taunted her about 'seeing' it coming. She wasn't a fan and would rather use all the years she had figuring out what Felice had meant than ask Sybil. It probably wasn't that important anyway. If anything, she was exaggerating too.
