As soon as Moto laid eyes on her cub, she fell in love with it. It was the only one of the litter, a beautiful cub with a pelt the colour of the rising sun. Feri I was also very pleased with his new daughter as her little squeals filled the nursery. The vibrant cub was named ‘Alfajiri’, meaning ‘at dawn’.
At 3 months, Alfa started taking interest in flowers. She adored their appearance, smell, and most importantly, how good they looked on her.
At 6 months, she obtained a new nose piercing, crafted delicately by Kwanza, her older half-sister. It shone in the sunlight like pure gold, making her even prouder of herself and her family.
At 8 months old, Alfa moved out of her old, stuffy cave and into a fresh one along with Kwanza. Feri I proudly announced that they were the start of a new chapter in the pride: one where all mutations, no matter what type, would be accepted.
At 1 year old, Alfajiri found a small leopard cub during one of her hunting trips with her mother. Naming her ‘Ziwa’, meaning lake, she became instantly attached to the little beast, taking her everywhere. She shared flowers with her, played with her, even showed her to Kwanza, who was absolutely delighted and welcoming. Ziwa became an official member of Kwanza’s animal nursery.
At 2 years old, Alfa’s mutation was revealed: the fur around her neck and chest was longer and softer than her pridemates’, leading her to look even more graceful. To celebrate her new adulthood, she collected a large, beautiful red flower to keep as her heirloom.
