Unlike all the other cubs, Red Dawn never had a problem being around Dusk. That's because ever since she first opened her eyes, the spook cub was right there by her side. The other queens wouldn't admit it, but they were afraid that Dusk might harm Dreamy Sunset's new cub. That's because for years it had been just the two of them, and now there was a sister to share a mother with. Of course, that never happened. Dusk might have been a shadow of a real pup, a frozen version of Sunset's first daughter, but that didn't mean she was bad-natured. She stayed by Red Dawn's side until she was old enough to be with the other pups, and seeing that she was isolated from the others, Red Dawn always spent some part of the day with her sister. She learned about her mother and Dusk's history when she was old enough to understand, but even after that she never saw them any differently. She only feels a heavy heart for the fact that her sister would never grow up, and would never be able to interact like a normal lioness.
Her stay with the other cubs was not easy for her mother, whose memory of her first daughter's death haunted her. It was only when Red Dawn reached adolescence that she was able to calm down, with the help of the other queens. Still, to keep her heart at ease, she found a guardian in the form of a familiar.
Haphos is a winged creature similar to a heron. He is black and his eyes are white, without pupils. He doesn't talk much, and he doesn't interfere in Red Dawn's life, just stays nearby, flying around, watching for any sign of danger. Even after reaching adulthood, Red Dawn continued to keep Haphos company, as even with little conversation, a true bond of friendship was formed between the two.
