01/07/18 — When you greet each other, Lord Binou exchanges with you a few interesting stories about his last trip to the waterhole.
Binou was the third king of Maporomoko.
He was always smaller than average, and was frequently mocked for this in his home pride by his family and friends. He was weaker than everybody else, and was an outcast. He felt he never truly fit in.
So he left his pride and went exploring.
He was young and inexperienced, but he nonetheless tried to survive in the wild. It didn’t work out very well, and he grew malnutritioned as he could not hunt very well. In his old pride, all the lionesses hunted, he did not have a need to hunt.
But one day while he was walking in the hot deserts land, he smelled the fresh scent of water, and he followed it. It brought him to a water hole. There were lots of animals around the water hole taking a drink, but upon seeing him enter, they all ran away. He shrugged it off, and began to drink from the lake.
Suddenly, a
lioness emerged. She approached him. He was enchanted by her beauty.
“Who are you?” She asked, overbaringly.
“My name is B-Binou,” He stuttered back, nervously.
She flicked her tail dismissively. “What are you doing here?” She demanded, “This is our home, the centre of our camp, and you just march in, drink our water and act like you own the place. You are a provincial. You don’t belong here.”
Thirst was digging at Binou. He desperately wanted to continue lapping at the bountiful water. “I-I just... I left my old pride... I’ve been out here for so long, I just needed to have some water.”
She snorted, and aggressively stepped forwards. “Why should we help you?”
Then, a large lion emerged from the trees. “Nzuri,” He said in a deep voice, “He is a traveller. We should do all we can to help his kind, especially when they need us the most. This is now for him. These are the morals taught by your step-Mother - do you not believe we should follow them?”
Nzuri glanced at Binou furiously, then down at her paws. “I suppose he can stay.” She murmured.
From then on, Binou was accepted into the pride. It didn’t matter that he was a small boy, since the pride members treated him like kin: braiding his mane, playing with him. Soon, he took a place in the society, patrolling their territory and making sure there were no dangers.
He grow comfortable and felt accepted here, unlike in his home pride. Eventually, it had become clear to everyone that Binou was the heir, and would take after Chitundu. King Chitundu and Queen Nzuri’s daughter, Princess Mwanahamisi, even asked Binou to take her daughter, then Princess Angalia, as his queen. He accepted the offer, and Angalia was crowned the Crown Princess of the pride.
On 07/07/18, when the pride learned of King Chitundu’s death, King Binou was kinged. He became the king of Maporomoko, and Angalia became his queen. All other members of the Royal Family - excluding Nzuri and Endana - were demoted to huntresses.
King Binou was attracted to Angalia, but her conscientiousness and gregariousness pushed him away. She was too much of a ‘good girl’ to him. He was much more attracted to her grandmother, Queen Nzuri. She was a strong lioness, not afraid to strut both her femininity and her strength. He loved her and lusted after her, and even tried to bed her, but she refused to, and called him a ‘dirty little harlot’.
