Leading you away from the waterhole, the decorated and scarred king pushed you through bushes until you came to yet another clearing. It was shrouded in shadows, produced by the heavy canopy of leaves above. There was a small rocky pool in the corner full of sparkling fresh water. A pile of small rodents and birds was over on the far end, in front of the mouth of a deep and dark cave. The whole place smelled of the King and of Queen Caelestibus.
"This is where me and my beloved Cae sleep. Our den, our little area of peace."
Cor Auream explained, gesturing with his paw. He hopped onto a big, flat rock and laid down, inviting you to join on a shorter rock beside him.
"Why do you come here, stranger? Do you have a purpose?"
You explain to him that you were exploring, it was a past time of yours to meet new prides. He smiles and nods his head, seeming to believe that was a good answer. You ask about the prides' history.
"Well, you see, I am the first King of this pride. I established it all those years ago. As I am coming upon 10 years old, it seems like so long. I'm in the process of finding a suitable, young, strong, attractive male to take my place. My daughters shall become future queens, or consorts."
"When I first came, I was a plain lion, with black eyes and a dull spirit. During the poaching, I found my new colors, my bright eyes. I aged, I became stronger. I have built my pride on the principles of honestly and loyalty. We live in harmony with the lands, taking in Wanderers and sheltering cubs before they move on."
He sighs happily, but you notice a mysterious glint in his eyes. He seems to be vague about something. You thank him for his time before you depart. He stands as well, shaking his mane.
"Safe travels, good lion. May we meet again."
