King of the Jungle

Dalakai's upbringing was turbulent, to put it lightly. Born to a sickly mother, Ebele, and tyrannical sire, Drevis, meant each day was a battle to survive. If not for his mother's protection, he might have been killed by his father, who always suspected adultery from his lionesses despite never allowing them out of his sight. Dalakai was forced to grow up quickly and trust slowly.

When he finally came of an age strong enough to challenge Drevis, he squared up to the old battle-scarred male, but lost almost instantly. He still bears scars from the fight. As per pride rules, he was immediately exiled upon losing the battle. Little did he know, exiling lions was how the Lionesses freed their young from Drevis' rule--mercy disguised as punishment.

Dalakai has vowed to never let another take advantage or control of him, but also to never be cruel. He takes in cubs who have been abandoned or orphaned, in honor of his mother, to pay her bravery and strength forward, and to teach other male lions that fear is not the only way to rule a pride. Love is incredibly powerful, too.
