The word Raaisel is Afrikaans for mystery, or puzzle, and is a summary of this lion's mysterious nature. Raaisel, like many other male lions, was chased from his pride once he reached the age at which he could be a potential threat to his father's rule of the pride. The time he spent figuring out how to survive on his own shaped him into a lion of mystery, never trusting fully and preferring to keep his personal doings private. Though unsure of others, he has grown into a fine lion and began a pride of his own. This pride started at nothing, but strives for prosperity. Raaisel sat, pushed up his mask with a paw and scratched the side of his face. He heard yelling in the distance, but his interest diminished as soon as he realized the lion was not in his territory. Raaisel was a mysterious lion with a hard heart and far-off mind. When a lion cub was born that did not meet his standards of beauty, he took it from its mother, only telling her, "Your cub is not fit for this pride. It will not be back," before carrying the cub away from its devastated mother. Rumor has it that he kills the cubs he takes away, others say he carries it far away and abandons it. He stretched his large body and let out a massive yawn before slinking away into the tall grasses.
