“Remember what I taught you,” Dawn Bringer smiled a faint smile, determination in his voice. “From now on lions will call you king, Saaryan. You are now royalty. This will be the first time someone other than myself is in the lead. Congratulations, Saaryan. I hope you will lead the Sunup pride with honor and compassion.”
Dawn Bringer bowed and lead you to a great hallway made of broken branches and palm leaves. Blue and red flowers were draped and braided into the wood. Fireflies lit up the place, seeming attracted to the lions sitting inside. Swerving around them like tiny, tiny wildfires. You spot Syra batting them, clearly not as fascinated by them as you were. It was clear she'd been waiting for a long time. Their mother shushed her down quickly when Dawn Bringer came through the opening. He started a speech, somewhat similar to what he had told him, just less personal.
After a minute full of yawning mouths in the crowd Dawn Bringer finally called Saaryan out. Everyone were quickly alert again and you thought you saw some of their eyes sparkling. You felt important, more important than ever before. You walked up to Dawn Bringer, feeling like an overly excited cub again. Looking into his dark eyes, he smiled and carefully put a flower crown on your head.
“Saaryan, you are now the king of this pride. Everyone in this room is now to serve you and follow your every command. Somewhat, at least,” you could see Dawn eyeing some of the elder lionesses and their offspring suspicously. “Congratulations, my son.”
Saaryan tussled in silence, simply watching his opponent's moves and waiting for an opening. The effort paid off!
