"Hani. Come here." Called the young male's father. Hani hadn't been listening; he was far too busy tussling with the remains of the rodent he had finished munching on. "Before I get any older, idiot, I'll wither away by the time you get here," said Striking Fox II. He emerged ever so slightly from the hole he called his den. His legs shook and the gravity that blanketed his words urged Hani to get up and go to him. "I've worked hard enough to make you passable as an heir, so don't screw up the actual thing and make me work you from the grave." He growled. "Make me and your grandfather proud." By morning, the old king was dead. No member of the pride needed an announcement to know Hani was now Striking Fox III. Though he sobbed and was lethargic for a few days, the young king was able to raise his head high and accept his new role. He was far more virtuous than his father and took caution in erasing the stigma associated with his new name. He spent years doing any and everything he could to change those who knew of his lineage's minds, but it was far too much. He couldn't deal with it, and reflection on his father's ways made him decide to change the name that cursed him. He went into hiding and faked death (with the help of his pride), for two years. When he returned he called himself Banana, the berry that his mother wanted to name him after, and resumed the kind ways he had grown used to.
