The Second Timekeeper.

"Its arrival dissolved time - what should have been the present became the past, what was once the future became the present. Something came to an end, while some were reborn."

One Storm had passed, but so had one Timekeeper. The corrupted world would never be in balance without something, someone, to keep it in order. Humanity needed a record keeper. There needed to be someone to brave the Storm. Thus, the second Timekeeper was chosen.

An ordinary citizen, living in the era the Storm had landed upon.

She awoke from a daze, stopping in her tracks. She opened her eyes, and saw the world for the first time. Why could those around her not see the raging destruction around them? Were those rain droplets rising up into the sky just a trick of light? The sky was the color of blood. People talked in a nonsensical language. Coins and paper bills rested on plates in restaurants, yet they eagerly shoved the money into their stomachs.

"The ridiculous, absurd, unutterable hysteria. The rain poured down and worn down the order of this world. Then the madness took shape, and oddities prevailed. This is a place where gold and oil are sent down people's throat, and the bacchanals dance and sing on the burning floor. The sick hardly recognize sickness, as you see in many other times."

What was this wretched curse that set humankind's mind into such a state of insanity?

She alone watched as reality was ripped apart at the seams, then crudely stitched back together. Another era gone, erased from the timeline. The memories of the future would reside only with the Timekeeper now.

The Storm had chained her. She was ensnared in its curse, bound to her solemn duty until the Storm shattered her, as it had shattered her predecessor.
