One day as a young adult, he woke up somewhere in the northern territory. He couldn't remember anything about himself or anyone else, only the dream he woke up from. He tried to catch the fading memories of the dream, he remembered feeling cold.. colder than the wind during the rainy season. Colder than anything he would ever experience again. He remembered a dog with thick dark fur. He remembered the dog talking to him, but the only word that stuck around was one: Kristall.

There's a strange monkey that likes to show King Kristall where he can find cubs that could potentially want to join his pride, and Kristall enjoyed rescuing those abandoned cubs. This day was no different. He decided he wanted to try to find an adolescent female that could help his hunters during hunts and followed the scents around. With him he brought a gift that the cubs might find alluring. He put the gift, a skull, on the ground and stepped back to sit by a bush, half hidden, waiting for someone to come find it. Not a minute later he heard someone coming. The cub must be smart! He peered at the opening between the trees, but what he saw was very much not a cub. A small, thin female came into the area, sniffing for something. Kristall was awestruck and blinked his eyes. He had not expected to find a grown female here, and not one this beautiful and eyecatching. He had seen females before, he was the king of a whole pride and for gods sake, he had bred with them! But this female.. He couldn't keep his eyes off her. He had fallen in love.

As more younger lionesses came into his pride, Kristall more and more became a proper King who loved all his lionesses equally. He only accepted the most beautiful females in his pride, and he cast out those who weren't up to standard.
