Sweetheart

As a cub her pride’s territory was found to be abundant in land and fresh prey. Lithuania’s pride had all they would ever need to thrive, that was until the first snowfall. After this the temperatures only got colder, prey becoming more scarce and their water frozen over. The pride had no where to go, not even an idea of which direction to take. As time progressed more lions died, and the pride became smaller. Lithuania and her mother both hanging with a single claw onto the little hope they had left of their pride, and their own survival.

Barely scraping by the harsh winter, the first signs spring finally arrived and no sooner did the pride regain their strength with the little numbers they had, and left their former territory. The lions lost in the cold of that winter would never be forgotten by the pride, and as they thrived once more, every winter they would honor all the lions that were lost, including Lithuania.

She hears their stories every winter, her mother’s mournful cries, but she cannot return. Frozen to death in the cold of that winter Lithuania’s spirit would not leave her pride to suffer, she helped best as she could, leaving trails for hunting lionesses and cracks in iced over rivers. A promise she made to help not only her pride, but others as well who wonder into the icy heart of the Snowfall territory.

All will know the story of Lithuania and her pride, the fallen lions spirits touching the earth every winter to assist Lithuania in her mission to assure that what happened to her, and her pride would never happen again. Since that day endless stories have been told of a lioness, some say she’s cruel, her deafening roars threatening anyone who steps near her precious lands, even stories of her ruthlessness in procreating her endless treasures have been spread. But many other’s say she’s kindhearted lioness, saving all who become lost in the endless storms and leading them to safety, a beacon of hope when they once believed all was lost. Nonetheless, everyone knows the tale of The Interstellar Lithuania, and her pride.
