Dovahnor is the new king of a previously unnamed territory with an unusual history. For generations, lionesses have ruled as the true kings in the pride and only with a male as a front to strangers. Dovahnor wasn't born to this pride, but she feels a strong connection to their beliefs and way of life. Tired of hiding themselves, Dovahnor made a deal with Apollyon the lion god. She would be a female capable of impregnating lionesses just like any male lion. In return, she would do his bidding come time for the celestial war.
4/28/18: Dovahnor is looking for a certain lioness and puts out feelers looking for her. She gets some news of a potential lioness currently living in the Thedas territory. Curious, Dovahnor decides to go herself and see this lioness. At Piharii's request, she brings the young lioness with her to visit this new territory. At full surprise to Dovahnor and Piharii, it turns out this was this original pride she belonged to before Dovahnor found her. She has a great welcoming party, but Dovahnor's attention is elsewhere. She's still looking for the lioness of their original goal and that lioness is said to have three Violet Backed Starlings who follow her everywhere. She spots the birds but doesn't see their owner and so decides to follow them. After trailing through a worn-down path, she finds an auburn colored lioness by herself. The birds land on her back as she greets them each. Dovahnor is stunned to see the lioness look nearly identical to that of legend Freya II. Her most noticeable trait being her eyes. They were that of a Starcaller. Dazed, Dovahnor couldn't speak even when the lioness approached her. The two stared at each other for some time before she began to move past the speechless lioness. All at once, Dovahnor bowed to the stranger and explained herself and her being here. It was time for the Starcaller to come home.
4/29/18: After consulting with King Trevelyan and Queen Ozarka and beginning a new alliance, Dovahnor selects some adolescents to come with her. The adolescents, though extremely excited have tearful goodbyes with their mothers, friends, and their king and queen. Just before making the journey, Dovahnor and her new followers gather on the closest border Thedas and unnamed territory have. She gives them a heartfelt speech about how it's not going to be easy, but it must be done in order to bring glory back to the best way of life. As she's giving her speech, three lionesses show up. A fluffy maned lioness named Sefu, Piharii, and Freya III. They all wanted to join her on her quest of conquest and she was glad to have them, especially Freya III.
4/30/18: Dovahnor did not waste a single second when invading. She didn't bother issuing a formal challenge and simply pounced on the fool who called himself king, Tommen. He thrashed around as she held onto his back, her greater weight tiring him down quickly and making him more susceptible to mistakes. She grabs ahold of his neck through his mane and bites down hard. He collapses immediately and dies a few seconds later. Showing no remorse Dovahnor bellows out a powerful roar to the heavens and stars above for all to hear, she is the new king. For the pride of lionesses who just watched her murder their king, she gives three options. Bend the knee, flee, or burn. Some are very quick to bow down and accept her while others turn tail and flee, a very few she has to kill to make a point. Once it's sorted out who is loyal and who isn't, Dovahnor turns around and bows down to Freya III, catching everyone off guard. She attempts to abdicate the throne to give to Freya III, the true heir, but Freya III tells her to keep the crown. She had earned through the right of conquest, that was something the Lionesses of Legend would have looked fondly upon. Instead, Freya III proposes marriage and Dovahnor happily accepts. Their wedding is quick and small, but the passion and love are truly there. Together they name their territory after the Wakanda of the great stories and hope their ancestors are looking down at them the stars proudly.
3/19/2019: After years of no contact between King Dovahnor and King Trevelyan and their pride of lionesses, Dovahnor finally breaks the silence. She has noticed within her pride, certain members have taken issue with her method and way of doing things. She wasn't called Deathlord of the Jungle, for nothing after all. She discusses with Trevelyan and he tells her that much of the same is happening within his pride, though a bit opposite. After a month of planning, the lionesses chosen for the mass migration are selected. The news is shared with the pride and many are happy with the decision. The two prides take their time exchanging goodbyes, farewells, and moving routes.
9/27/2020:
Queen Freya III Targaryen peacefully passes away in her sleep as she lays next to her wife and king. It isn't until the morning that Dovahnor realizes this. Stunned into silence, Dovahnor stays with her wife's for the entire day, it isn't until noon before
Kesi comes into their den to give her usual daily complaints when she spots the body and immediately walks out to inform the rest of the pride. Dovahnor barely noticed.
Koman Freya III's daughter from a different mating, was the first to reenter their den after
Kesi had left. She doesn't have time to say anything before
Taji rushes in and collapses at her mother's side. Their usually stoic and emotionless daughter bursts into tears while muttering nonsense to herself. The family sits there silently weeping until nightfall.
Unlike the Thedas pride, the Wakanda pride did not have many special death traditions. The family of the pride member, usually the children, siblings, or spouses, would dig the grave and place the deceased member inside so that their life may return to the earth and begin the circle of life again. While
Queen Freya III's family were grieving over her privately,
Jata. had taken the initiative and informed her father,
King Trevelyan, of the queen's passing.
Jata knew
Freya III's firstborn daughter,
Beno, lived within her father's pride and she just had cubs recently. Just as Koman and Taji were bringing their mother out of her den, Beno arrived, but not alone.
King Trevelyan,
Queen Ozarka,
Carswell IV,
Carswell V, and
Beno's two young cubs, were also arriving. They had known
Queen Freya III from when she had lived in their pride and had come to pay their respects.
Beno,
Koman,
Taji, and even Beno's 2-month-old daughters, began digging Freya III's grave as Dovahnor sat a distance away and watched.
Vasha had attempted to join but was shot down with a single glance from his mother. After the sisters had finished, and Freya III's body was placed within the grave, the surrounding lions told stories about her. Once everyone was done,
Carswell IV said a few chants as the sisters began covering their mother's body completing her return to the earth.
Dovahnor has avoided interacting with her pride ever since. The only lionesses she is willing to see are those of the royal den.
