Aunt Selena and Aunt Solani were arguing yet again. The sun and moon on the silver and gold crowns on each of their heads seemed to grow only brighter the more heated their argument got. Apollon sat, only a cub, listening to the two bicker. Several other male cubs were lined up beside him, bowing down to the two glorious goddesses.
Many cubs had been sent away, with a simple flick of either Selena’s or Solani’s paw. They yelled at each other some more, sending off five more cubs. They walked out of the royal cave with their tail tucked between their legs, shaking. Apollon had a vague idea of why he was here. The two goddesses of time were trying to come to an agreement on which male cub to send to a special pride. It was meant to show a symbolic unification, as far as he was concerned.
Perhaps many of the other cubs had left shaking, or had cried as the two goddesses bickered. But not Apollon. He sat, patient, until he was inevitably dismissed. But when he was the only cub left in the room, his blood ran cold. He looked up at his two grandmothers. Selene from his mothers side. Solani from his fathers. The two bloodlines bled into even his coat, making it a brilliant lilac color.
“Grandson. You must go to a pride that we will send you to. We will see to your happiness there. We ask that should you have any objections, you state them now,” Solani said. But her gaze, brighter than the sun she carried, burned Apollon into submission. So he was sent off with a quick wave of Selena’s paw, dropping into a savannah. A lioness quickly ran over to him, tending to his wounds from his fall. But for some reason, it was if she didn’t remember him falling from the sky at all…

Apollon is in no way related to Dianthus, nor to Zarinthia. In fact he has no blood relation to any of the old pride members. Dianthus had rescued him when he was just a cub, raised him alongside his own cub Emberfoot and chose him as his successor.
.
Apollon has his own way of doing things and is currently ensuring that almost all of the lionesses bare his cubs. If a cub doesn't satisfy his requirements he kills them. The Cubs were tainted, they wouldn't have lived for long regardless. They weren't blessed by any of the goddesses. But only he knew that. This has caused many of the lionesses to dislike him, except for Artemis, though they can't deny that he makes a great King.
