Small stones that were all hues of the rainbow dotted the mouth of The Malignant Gods cavern, pulsing in sync with each other. Blinking on and off for all eternity. Except for one. While all of the other Spirit Stones had a slight gleam to them, this stone was dull and weak.ย Even though it was not pulsing like the other stones, it still had a faint glow, be itย debilitated. A low buzz began to sound, like the wings of a buzzing bee of an annoying fly. The buzz grew louder and louder, but where was it coming from? It couldn't be one of the Spirit Stones, they were too small, and as far as anyone knew, unable to produce noise. Let alone any noise as potent as this one. The buzzing persevered, and the stone which was faint in glow slowly but surely began to pulse. Without the light, the stone was a grey-ish teal, but as it slowly began to illuminate it became a brilliant cyan colour with twinges of gold streaks through it. The light got stronger and stronger, until the stone was no longer pulsing and constantly glowed. That's odd. Very odd. At the same time the buzzing grew louder and louder, changing frequencies until something could be heard from the vibrations in the air.

As the words boomed from an unknown source, the cyan Spirit Stone began to.. shake? It vibrated back and forth as if it was being wiggled from where it was embedded into the stone. After a few moments of wiggling, the stone finally came loose and tumbled to the stone ground like it weighed a thousand suns. As the Spirit Stone impacted the ground, the fragile structure shattered into a dozen pieces. The pieces of stone still constantly glowed. But now, the pieces of stones were growing even more bright. From within the stone the light grew until they turned into small spotlights, the pillars of light that shone straight above grew and grew until a figure began to take form in the light. It was the shape of a lioness.
Acting both carefully and gracefully, the figure took a step forwards. Her pelt was like oxidized copper with small flecks of gold and her eyes were deep pools of golden water. She looked around and then onto the ground, finding that her vessel was shattered. Her eyes widened as she began to pick all of the pieces up, breathing quickly and heavily. This was bad. Really bad. Without her vessel she was, presumably, unable to regenerate and would forever be cursed to walk this mortal plain.

Light fades, light fades
I rage even as the shadows fall
Flickering in and out of view
Beyond sight, beyond recall
This, I know, a fate I earned
Trying, yearning to be more
Than I was, no mortal now
Yet still finite at my core
Why is it, as all things end
As I face this final quest
Do I still wish for one last breath
Before I rest, before I rest?
No one said that I would miss
The feel of sunlight on my face
The raindrops tickling my hair
Standing, sitting, touching... taste.
Somehow the lack cuts deeper than
My form, though fading, ever could
But if just one remembers me
Then I think, this fate? Is good.
