kinged 01/22/2023 'why pamper life's complexity when the leather runs smooth on the passenger seat?' after the former king's unexpected demise, the pride quickly scrambled to find his replacement. they set their sights on a charming, yet inexperienced young male. caligula's rule has been coloured by various frivolities. this new king seemingly spent more of his time rolling around in flowers, eating marula fruits, and flirting with lionesses (and other lions) than he did organizing patrols. the capricious young king expected his pride to follow him to wherever he fancied - and it was on his whim that they migrated to the shrubland territory by the riverside. needless to say, caligula is frustratingly prone to abandoning his duties in favour of hedonistic escapades and easily led by anyone who will pay him honeyed compliments. he seems to lack an inner life entirely - never becoming attached to anything, regarding all formal matters with aristocratic indifference and preoccupied with nothing but self-idolatry. this causes some of his pride to cast their doubts surrounding his qualifications to rule.
