after the unexpected passing of the previous king, the lionesses were confused, panicked and stressed; there was no heir to take his place, and their territory was amongst a barren land, lacking in any potential prideless males who could take over. nyctophilia, then young, took this as an opportunity. she had always imagined how would it be like to lead a pride: i mean, how hard could it be?

the young lioness used her manipulative language to influence the pride's thoughts. 'how far can we carry on without a leader?' she would say, and, reluctantly, the older lionesses eventually gave in, desperate for a leader. but many still did not appreciate nyctophilia's toying with the ancient traditions. they didn't like the lioness is general; she was often cruel, brash & distant from her pride, and needlessly harsh.

yet she managed to do what a king would without any trouble. she gained the respect of her pride, whether from fear or admiration, and became an icon of the pride after only a few months. although, with her ambition growing evermore as the lionesses obeyed her orders as the new king, it's unsure what nyctophilia's true intentions really are.
