King of the Jungle Kalein

Traveling far from his mother and sister at a young age, Kalein(Cal-ein, ein is a German word) found himself surrounded in Hades territory. While Hades had a tendency to let his females wander while he explored, he knew this brightly colored cub didn’t smell like him. Stalking around the cub viciously Hades has no intention to let this male cub stay. As he lifted his paw to swipe the young cub an older, pregnant lioness stepped in Hades way. Wyne, the most nurturing lioness in the pride had no intention of letting her young, impulsive king hurt this cub. Hades huffed at his female, having no intention to fight this females determination he stalked away. Wyne stood over the new cub she took into her care grooming him calmingly. Young Kalein watched lionesses pass by him glancing as they passed. One stopped before him as Wyne bowed to her Queen, Evie. Evie looked over the cub indifferently, scoffing at the way his mane clashed with his colorful fur, and paced away. Wyne went right to work with the cub knowing if her queen accepted him Hades would tolerate his presence. Wyne collected all the leaves and moss and greens she could and groomed it into the small cubs mane leaving it for a while, when she bathed the cub later the bright green color stayed. As Evie passed the cub later she chuffed in approval before rubbing against her king and laying beside him to sleep.

When Kalein is old enough to look out for himself Wyne encourages him to go hunting with the other males. Zeres takes one look at the young cub and snorts walking away. Villi however sees himself within the young male, maybe it’s the way his coat looks like a brighter version of Villi’s but he seems something in this cub and decides he will take him under his wing. Villi takes Kalein on all of his hunting trips to teach the young male how to hunt and take care of a pride.

As Kalein’s training under Villi is coming to an end Hades starts to take notice how loved the young male is. Intrigued he starts to interact with the male and realizes that Villi has heavily worn off on the cub. Hades seeing that the young male is still impressionable decides that Kalein is now going to serve under him to show the cub how to correctly handle himself within a pride and to think outside of himself. His hard lessons wear down on Kalein, but they have their intended purpose. Hades starts to notice that Kalein’s self-centered attitude that has been festered by Villi is changing to be more thoughtful of the pride and others. Hades begrudgingly realizes this young cub is becoming a loved and helpful member to his pride. One who has also unknowingly grown on him while he takes him under his wing.

Kalein finds a pile of pretty, strong smelling pink petals. He huffs them lovingly and rolls around in the until he is comfy and then takes a nap. Hours later when he wakes up he feels tingly. All the lionesses are rubbing against him telling him he seems extra special today…hopefully it lasts?

Even though they’re not his Kalein loves playing with the cubs. He lets Trigger paint red stripes on his belly while she cuddles up next to him insisting that it’ll make them an extra cute couple when they’re older if they both have stripes. Ahh teenagers and their imaginations….he hopes the stripes never wash off.

When Hades was getting up in age he decided he’d fought long enough and wanted an early retirement. He crowned Kalein his heir. The cub had grown on him over the years and shaped into a wonderful King. Therefore on 1/31/2024 Hades stepped down and handed his pride to his successor.

As soon as the words Cotton Root Bark leave Triggers muzzle Kalein knows that Lillia used dark methods to get rid of his cubs. He’s enraged that she tricked sweet Trigger who trusted her pride mate. The fact that she hurt one of his lionesses and caused her to loose his cubs his devastating to him. He wants to go against his nature and hurt Lillia or kick her out of his pride. But he knows he can’t with her being pregnant with his cubs. So for now he’ll groom and cuddle Trigger until she feels better and stay by her side 24/7, she’s HIS and he will forever protect her.
