(Part 1) Establishing a Pride
Kustaa grew up in a rather large pride far to the south, spending his days being carefree. But like all males born into a pride, his father chased him out when he was around 2 years old. Now on his own, Kustaa must learn to either survive as a loner or find some lionesses of his own. Thankfully it didn't take long before he bumped into two lionesses around a small watering hole during the dry season. Seasoned females that not only knew how to hunt, and do it well, but were also looking for a new pride to join.
Now with a few lionesses of his own, Kustaa must prove to these newly founded companions that he is worth following. Good hunting grounds and a large territory are a necessity for any pride. But carving out your own place in a land filled with others looking for the same things won't be easy. Battles are to be expected, from both prey and predator alike, and unfortunately not all lives can be saved.
(Part 2) Proving Your Worth
A year has passed since Kustaa first created his own pride, and it has grown quickly. Many battles were won and lost, lionesses have come and gone, and seasons changed with rapid pace. But now with territory and companions to call his own, outsiders threaten the newfound peace of the pride. Kustaa is quickly learning that one must never become stagnant if they wish to remain in control, so he continues to gain strength and wisdom every day. But perhaps with a little help he would have more time to focus on growing the pride even larger. Cubs are needed to usher in new and stronger hunters. While at the same time, boarders cannot go unguarded.
A new journey begins, perhaps one even more dangerous than before. Kustaa must find proper allies in either old enemies or unknown outsiders. Ones who seek safety and stability, but also willing to protect those around them and respect their newfound leader. It's finally time for the young King to prove his worth, but he must be vigilant and careful. Or else he might just end up with claws in his back and a legacy broken before it has the chance to even start.
(Part 3) Whispers of the Ancestors
They say that the wind can whisper to a lion if they listen closely enough. Or that the ripples and stars on the water's surface can reveal secrets of the present and future. Some might scoff at those who believe in such things, but a few know better than to dismiss what they might hear or see. Those who can uncover the truth and peer into a lion's dreams are called Shamans. An interesting group, as they were born to the Earth yet their eyes are always cast to the heavens.
Aguya, a lioness Kustaa had brought into the pride as a young cub and once thought to be blind, became the pride's Shaman at a young age. She always had an otherworldly feel to her, but it wasn't until she became an adult that the lioness was able to recognize the signs. Whispering in the wind and ghostly figures at night wandering the pride lands. A pool of water not far from the pride's camp quickly became her favorite place, as it always reflected the beautiful stars every night. It is a spot where she also felt the closest to her ancestors and can hear their whispering or feel their guidance no matter what time of day it was. Perhaps they had once use this pool as well?
