ashitakan is a warrior spirit reincarnated as a brave lion that endlessly roams the lands of lioden searching to fulfill what they had in their past life of royalty. when ashitakan feel in love with a passionate and exotic young queen of a different country, he begged the gods to let him have her. but as a warrior and heir to the throne, it seemed the gods did everything in their power to keep the star crossed lovers apart. but one night under the cover of the moon, ashitakan and the queen sailed out into sea together bound to each other lovingly. when they suddenly landed on a strange island with prideful, king lions that the queen would dare not cross. but in a loving act of what he thought was bravery, he killed a lion to protect his lover. however the gods were not very happy with some of the mightiest lions in all of history being killed by a young man, so they cursed the warrior to live as a lion until the day the queen dies and they can be re-united!
