Sirius was an orphan, as far as she would ever know. She didn’t know the comfort of having a mother or a father, or even having friends, so she always avoided other lions. That is, until one day, she fell asleep under a tree and was forced into a pride. Sirius was independent - she didn’t want the need of having friends, or if they proved her fear of abandonment right, so immediately she was on guard. One of the lionesses approached her, a growl curling her lips to reveal fangs too sharp for the norm as she said, “You have come home. You are our queen.” “This isn’t my home. And I’m not your Queen.” spat Sirius. The lioness rolled her neck and flicked her tail, “What a pity. Then we’ll have to forge you into something you’re not.” Sirius couldn’t register anything before several lions had pounced on her, winding her off breath. Then, for the rest of her life, all she would remember is seeing nothing. Not black just a void of nothing. But she was young, and as a pup, she couldn’t fight back with experience she didn’t have. Then the weight on her was gone, and she was left alone, blind and bleeding. In a vengeful state, Sirius forged two wings and managed to stitch them onto her shoulders. She cried the whole time, mourning how she lost the privilege of eyesight, which was such a small thing that had consequences. Sirius learned how to adapt, though - she learnt how to use her other senses. Now, Sirius is throned. She has decided to send Seshat, the old Queen, out of the pride the second she became the queen, destined to rule the lands that she never wanted to.
