☽Hecate☾ is an interstellar being known to bring souls to their afterlife who suddenly touched down on earth to mingle with the mortals a long, long time ago and decided to settle down to explore the earth for a while longer, leaving his descendants behind.
. He/Him. {scroll down for a little story I made! TW:strong language, mentions of suicide}
“But with everybody watching us, our every move, we do have reputations“
. As a cub, Hecate was always bullied and tormented for being named after a 𝒈𝒐𝒅𝒅𝒆𝒔𝒔 and not a god like the others. Slowly as he aged, he began to recognize that he was stronger- no, 𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓 than the other interstellar lions. After turning 2, he decided staying with the other interstellar lions wasnt for him. He descended down in July with a couple others, and stayed.
. ~about a year later in may~
. “Another month, another odd thing these mortal lions do..“ hecate grumbled as he stretched, walking out of his den to see what all the commotion was. “an arena..?“ he thought as he padded up to sit next to the other lions, deciding watching a little tournament wouldn't be so bad. He'd notice a young adolescent male muttering about one of the contestants, before swiveling his head around to look at Hecate. The adolescent looked at him as if he wanted hecate to ask about it “...is there someone you're cheering for?“ Hecate said, though he wasn't super interested. “I was just hoping that red lion down there would win so he could fight against my brother. That would be so cool. I'm V’kai, by the way!“ Hecate hesitated, as he didn'tw ant to drag this conversation on for too long, but he decided to just go along with the little lion “Oh. Is your brother fighting down there?“
"Hah, yeah. Between you and me, I kicked his ass once, so he's been on a binge to prove his manhood. He's sooo salty!" Hecate gave a scoff. “Whatever floats your boat, kid“ the adolescent seems very disappointed that hecate didnt believe him, and His tail stopped waving, which Hecate only boticed once it stopped “what, did i expose you, little man?“ Hecate gave a smirk as he teased the young male. “OH YEAH??" the young lion suddenly shoves his face into Hecate’s, leaving him with a look of disgust. "Want to experience two paws of fury, bro!?" Hecate quickly fixed his face to a small smile “bring it on, little guy“ after ruffing him up for a little bit, he gave Hecate a look of defeat. Like a typical rebellious teenager, he's struggling to accept he's in the wrong. His tail starts waving again, this time in annoyance, and a small snarl suppressed by your domination is struggling to appear on his muzzle. "Fine, you win. To be fair, you look like you gobble egg yolks all the time. I thought steroids are banned!" “who's salty now?“ Hecate teased. “...whatever. Just follow me“ the small lion would walk off, Hecate close behind him. V’kai seems to lead him to some kind of resting spot for the fans, where a lot of betting, talking, and gossiping is going on. Hecate spaced out as V’kai rambled something about groupies, before he heard V’kai ask if he wanted to meet male groupies as well as females. “What? Ew no, gross dude!!“ Hecate would chuckle nervously, though he didn't even understand why. "B R O. All noted down for you, you horny shit. There's plenty of stuff to do between challenges, though. If you're interested in getting extra Arena Tokens or special currency, hit me up!" V'Kai hops on his favourite spot, where he chats up the ladies. “I'm outta here..“ Hecate grumbled before heading back to his den for some rest.
. ~couple days later~
. Hecate approached V'Kai's spot, but it is empty. “Odd... At this time of the day, he'd usually be chilling here surrounded by his friends. Well, he is a young dude. He's probably off eating Marula Fruit somewhere and just didn't have a moment to meet me this time.“ Hecate thought to himself. Hecate waited for a bit, nodding off until he felt a cold shadow over his muzzle. He opened his eyes, seeing the scarred paws of a big male lion. "Where's V'Kai?" Hearing a gravelly voice, hed lift his head to see a lion with a painted face, lots of scars, and a very annoyed expression. Hecate paused for a moment, slightly blushing, before quickly going back to his senses “Who the hell are you?“ he'd say while shorting him a glare. "What a lazy twat he is. I'm his brother, Vashkartzen, but sometimes I doubt we share any genes. I needed some things done, and every time I get out from that bloody pit, he fucks off. Are you one of his annoying friends?" “friends is an overstatement.“ Hecate rolled his eyes thinking of the small lion. “he keeps trying to hook me up with a ton of lionesses“ Hecate tried to add another word in but was cut off by Vashkartzen "Of course. Lingering, procrastinating idiot. He will never achieve anything like this. What is YOUR free time spent on, dude? Training to be the best, or hanging out with your.. Fans? Maybe you should join me after hours." Hecate hesitated, before taking up the lions offer “I'd prefer training.“ Vashkartzen leads Hecate along his well-known path, accepting Hecates presence next to him. He shows Hecate his own spot, far away from everyone else. It's a secluded area littered with animal bones and plenty of permanent scratches in the rocks. "Here I train with other lions between challenges. You're up for a spar, dude?" Hecate twitched, not knowing if he wanted to reveal that he was an interstellar lion “..fine. But dont expect me to be stong” Hecate said, deciding to feign being weak. ^after^ "at least you actually tried to fight for real. I pinned my brother with one paw and he cried for mercy." Hecate opened his mouth to speak, but stopped before he accidentally slat out what V’kai had said about his brother. “well, Hecate, if your ever around after fights, you can always visit for some training. Well, u less you want to hang around with my pleb of a brother.“ Hecate chuckled, noticing the similarities between the brothers. “what're you laughing at?“ Vash growled. “nothing, it just that you and your so called “pleb of a brother“ are pretty similar“ Hecate smiled softly, hoping Vash wouldn't get too mad. “.. Don't say stupid shit like that again“ Vash snarled, before turning around to go do something else. “guess that's my queue to leave..“ Hecate thought.
. ~The next day~
. Hecate was drawn over to a crowd of lions, with to lions fighting in the middle. As Hecate got closer, he realized it was Vash and V’kai. “shit..“ Hecate mumbled as he noticed V’kai didn't have a chance. “fuck it.“ Hecate jumped between the lions, growling as he spoke “That's enough vash.“ Vash would back off, and walk away roaring in victory. Hecate would look down at the small lion, who was curled between his paws. Hecate could tell v’kai felt somewhat safe with him. Hecate glared at the crowd, signaling for them to go away. After the crowd had dispersed, hecate spoke to V’kai in a soft voice “come on, buddy. Let's go hang out for once in a while.“ Hecate glared at Vash’s direction, which V’kai seemed to notice, and quickly tried to reassure Hecate "We don't always get along, you know. Siblings fight sometimes, but it's okay. He's usually awesome! Besides, those two girls always lick my wounds." Hecate nodded slowly, still furious at Vash, but not wanting to upset V’kai. “..Okay... Anyway, let's go hang out and have fun.“ Hecate trotted off with V’kai, as they hung out for the rest of the day.
. ~2 weeks later~
. “everything will end soon. I'll finally be rid of Vash and V’kai..“ Hecate thought, trying to convince himself he didn't care for the mortal lions. “ugh.. Fuck it.. I'm gonna settle this little family feud.“ Hecate thought to hisself as he headed toward Vash’s usual spot. ^arrived^ “Vashkartzen.“ Hecate called sternly. “what do ya want? And why're you yelling?“ Vash said as he appeared from behind a dried pelt. “what the fucks your problem, man? Why're you such an asshole to V’kai?“ “What are you on about?“ Vash replied with a snarl. “you know exactly what I'm talking about.“ Hecate growled, frustrated with Vash. “Well I don't like lazy lions who prefer to loaf around and get drunk instead of training or doing any work!“ Hecate scoffed, getting more annoyed as Vash spoke “He's a teenager! That's what teenagers do! And maybe he wouldn't drink so much if he didn't have a rude, bitchy older brother who doesn't give a shit about him!“ Vash just stared as Hecate spoke. “and maybe he would train if you would help him! Maybe if you weren't such a piece of shit you would notice that and help out your brother. Get a fucking grip, Vash.“ Hecate huffed, his eyes slightly damp. “If he acts like a child, I'll treat him like one.“ Vash replied, before turning around and beginning to walk off. “he is a child you fucking dipshit!“ Hecate snarled as he landed a swipe on his side, leaving a bleeding wound behind. “fuck..“ Vash said with a wince. “I'm so sorry, let me help you! I didn't mean it!“ Hecate said, noticing what he did. “just go to my brother and leave me alone.“ vash growled, looking slightly hurt. “No! I'm sorry Vash! Seriously, let me help you!“ Hecate rushed to Vash’s side, examining the wound. “it's not too dee-“ Hecate tried to say as he was cut off by Vash “Leave me the fuck alone Hecate!“ he snarled, landing a warning swipe at Hecates face. Hecate had tears welling up in his eyes as he began to speak “I'm sorry Vash. I'll leave you alone now.“ Hecate didn't know what he was feeling, he just knew he never felt it before. Was it hate, or was it regret? He didn't want to know, as he already knew the answer. Hecate quickly dried his tears as he went to find V’kai. ^1 hour of searching later^ “where is he-“ Hecate said as he spotted V’kai blacked out under a tree. He pawed at his face to wake him up, before giving him bone marrow juice to sober him up. “V’kai, you need to be more humble around Vash. You guys should try to train together sometime, or just go have some fun, y’know?“ Hecate smiled softly, trying to encourage V’kai. “but he doesn't like my friends, it whoever I hang out with! He only likes you!“ Hecate didn't know how to respond to that, so he pondered for a moment, before continuing the conversation “ life is about finding balance - when that balance between social events and focused evenings with his brother and their lessons is found, a mutual respect will grow. You both just need to work together to make that happen.“ V’kai nodded, seemingly listening intently. “also, about Vash only liking me, I doubt that. Especially after the shit that went down today.“ hecate sighed, as a lump grew in his throat. “what do ya mean?“ V’kai said, slightly tilting his head. “me and vash got into a little scuffle when I was trying to explain that you're still you d and he needs to be a bit more brotherly, but I took it to far and scratched him. It wasn't too deep but it was still bleeding. He sent me away after that.“ Hecate didn't notice at first, but he had a small bit of tears rolling down his face. “hey, hecate?“ V’kai, said in a confused manner. “yea..?“ hecate replied, just as confused. “When you said liking guys was gross.. Did you mean it?“ Hecate paused for a moment. “there's ntohing wrong with it. It's just not for um.. me..“ Hecate looked at his paws. He knew it wasn't right for no one of his power level to like other guys. He would be looked down on and ridiculed. Hecate was deep in thought was V’kai cut him off “What I'm trying to say is, do you like my brother, Hecate?“ V’kai didn't seem angry, nor sad. That confused Hecate. “I.. Think so. It doesn't matter. I fucked it up anyway. And I can't be with a guy.“ Hecate was still crying. “.. Come one you big cry baby.“ V’kai said as he dragged Hecate to Vash’s training area. “you to in first. Please.“ Hecate begged V’kai. “..Fine.“ V’kai sighed, as he went to talk to his brother. Shortly after, V’kai came out and dragged Hecate back in with him, before throwing him in front of Vash. “..anything you wanna tell me?“ Vash said, more calm than before. “I'm sorry. For everything.“ hecate said, expecting a swipe to the face. Vash looked disappointed, but continued anyway. “..V’kai told me everything. We could try it.“ Vash just waited for a response. Hecate was shocked. He didn't think this would happen. “...okay.“
.
. ~mid june~
. “he hasn't contacted me at all since the end of march..“ Vash sighed, looking to V’kai for answers. “I don't know man, you know I don't swing that way!“ V’kai said, shrugging. ^next day^ “uh.. Vash? There's a lion here for you!“ Vash stretched, and yawned was he spoke “’kay. I'm coming“ once vash got out there, he noticed the “lion“ wasn't a lion at all! It was an Leopon! “what do you want from me?“ he'd say, confused. “My king, Hecate, has asked you to meet him tonight at the watering hole. I'll be on my way now.“ the Leopon said, before turning around and leaving before vash could even get a word in. ^later that night^ Vash looked around for Hecate, until he finally spotted him. He looked different now, but was still beautiful. “finally! I thought you didn't like me anymore or som-“ vash said before he was cut of by Hecate “Vash.“ Hecate said in a serious tone. “I’m not.. like you.” Hecate looked at his paws. He seemed scared. Vash was confused. “What do you mean..?” Vash said, tilting his head slightly. “I’m not mortal.” Hecate’s breath was shaky, and he seemed as if he was restraining himself from breaking down. “I understand if you wouldn’t like me anymore and everything but I wanted you to kno-“ Hecate said quickly before he was cut off by Vash. “I don’t care, Hecate. I still love you regardless.” Hecate ran up to Vash and hugged him tightly.
~Early July, with Hecate~
“It’s almost time..” Hecate mumbled to himself while stretching. “Maybe they won’t care..” Hecate said, though he knew they would. Hecate stepped out of the den, walking slowly to not wake up Vash, who was supposedly asleep. Just as he got up, Vash yawned. “Who won’t care? And about what?” Vash said, still groggy. “Well.. every July, as you know, interstellar lions come down to mingle.” Hecate hesitated. “And?” Vash said, doing that little head tilt Hecate found so adorable. “They don’t.. like it when two males are together.” Hecate said nervously. Vash made a face of disgust. “Ugh. So homophobes?” Vash rolled his eyes. “..yeah.” Hecate said, his voice slightly shaky. “We’ll be fine, Hecate.” Vash said with a smile, before walking up and grooming Hecate affectionately.
~mid July, first time interacting with the other interstellar lions~
Hecate explored space cautiously, not wanting to run into anyone who knew. He was about to leave, as he heard a faint voice. “Hecate..?” He turned around to see a large male interstellar lion. “Oh.. it’s you.” Hecate said, sighing. “Yea! It’s me, Versius! How have you be-“ Versius hesitated before making a disgusted face. “Dude, you REEK of mortals. How many fights have you been in?” Versius said with a chuckle. Hecate growled. “Don’t try to sweet talk me now that I’m stronger than you, Versius. Also what I do with mortals is none of your concern.” Hecate glared at the male, getting defensive. “Aww you got a little girlfriend?” Versius remarked, before instantly regretting it as Hecate slashed his claws across his face. “Shut the fuck up, Versius.” Hecate was clearly agitated at this point, which made Versius nervous. “Damn man, I was just joking…” Versius winced as he ran off.
~Back on earth~
Hecate was still all worked up as he walked into his den to rest. “What happened? There’s blood on your claws.” Vash said while grooming his pelt. “Nothing fucking happened.” Hecate snapped accidentally. “Don’t fucking yell at me because you had a bad day. That shits not my fault.” Vash growled. Hecate sighed. “You’re right.. I’m sorry. Just.. a lot happened today.” Hecate lowered his head. He didn’t mean to snap at him. “Just tell me what happened when you’re ready, okay?” Vash said, sitting next to Hecate and rubbing against his neck with his head.
~3 days later~
Hecate stared at his self in the water as groomed his pelt. “Where’re you goin?” Vash asked as he appeared from inside of the den. “You never put this much effort into your looks” Vash said with a puzzled expression. Hecate sighed, “there’s this big reunion thing for interstellar lions every 10 years. We have to tell about everything that happened in the last ten years, and I really don’t wanna go.” Hecate frowned. “You’re still on that shit? Nobody’s going to give a fuck if you’re gay, dude.” Vash’s expression quickly went from smiling to a frustrated look. “They will, though.” Hecate said. “I’m not arguing with you about this again. I’m gonna go train.” vash walked off. “bye, vash...“ hecate sighed.
. ~at the reunion~
Hecate scanned the room he was in, dreading the fact he'll eventually have to see someone he knows. “Santin“ the superior lion called. Santin. Hecate had a crush on him when he was little, before he was mocked and sneered at for expressing it. “you made it“ a familiar voice interrupted his thoughts. “...Versius.“ Hecate sighed before turning to face the large male. “what do you want?“ hecate said, already agitated from his voice. “come on, cate! Why not hang with an old friend?“ hecate growled as Versius laughed. “'Friend' is an overstatement. Especially for what you did at the last reunion.“ Hecate snarled. “it was just a joke, man. What's got you all worked up? Your girlfriend make you mad?“ Versius chuckled. “Versius. Shut the fuck up before I give you another scar.“ hecate growled a reply. Just as Versius opened his moutht k speak, the Superior lion called hecate up for the “review“, as the superiors called it.
. ~After the reveiw~
Hecate stepped off the stage-like rock where the reviews were taking place. He was shaking and panting from nervousness. “Dude... That was gross.“ versius said, making a face of disgust. “Versius..“ hecate said with a snarl. “how many fucking chances do I have to give you?“ hecate said as he unsheathed his claws, before pouncing on Versius.
