Cael was a cruel cub who dominated his siblings as he fought for his mother's affection. As he grew, the fighting turned to torture, until eventually all of his brothers and sisters were "missing" before adolescence. Fearful of what Cael would become, his father exiled him from the pride to a desolate wasteland. Here, Cael set traps for the occasional animal that strayed too close, then he would exsanguinate his prey and leave the body in the desert sun to desiccate. He would then drag the preserved and lightened corpse along him as he toiled across the burning sands, until finally he left the inhospitable lands. A friendly pride took him in when he was an adolescent, but soon regretted their kind gesture when Cael flung the pride's leader into crocodile infested water. Distraught over the loss of a beloved king and dutiful father, the pride females overthrew Cael, and cast him into the territory of a ruthless pride. Cael, as a young adult, encountered the hostile pride and challenged the resident male. He fought without mercy and all the deviousness his twisted soul could muster. The cruel king fell at Cael's feet. The pride was now his, and here the heartless prevailed. As his pride grew, they would devour all the prey and leave the surrounding lands devastated. They moved onward, killing or chasing off other prides, taking what they will, and then moving onward once again. However, a few lionesses held out hope, kept their compassion and love for others alive, albeit hidden from their heartless king. In time, he would die, and perhaps his legacy along with him?
