Be they weak or fickle, Hekyll's whims will weed out the unworthy from those who belong. The Proven are lions and lionesses that have performed some noteworthy feat of strength or loyalty, whom Hekyll regards as his true pride. Hekyll's trust is hard won, but when it has been earned, it is almost unwavering. The Beloved are those rare lions and lionesses in whom Hekyll places the fragile things he carries in his otherwise stone heart. The Beloved are exactly that: spoiled with attention, love, forgiveness for all transgressions. Their cubs, be they sired by Hekyll or not, are almost always Beloved as well.
