Mona vi'aratha lives off of the blue blood of gods. She doesn't kill them; she only hunts them down, and as soon as their blood is spilled by her claws, their godly status is revoked by the higher gods due to their failure to fight against a mere mortal. Basically a lion vampire. Reports god blood tastes like blended grass You see the queen amongst the dunes, her face cloaked by the decaying shawl draped over her scrawny, almost skeletal form. She's muttering something supposedly to herself and drawing patterns in the sand with the black liquid coating her paws in the consistency of blood. Maybe she's crazy, or maybe she knows something we don't. Probably both. Mona Vi'Aratha is the sister of the former heir, Adhura. Her reign began when she slaughtered her brother before he could properly claim the throne; it had been his plan to kill Sadivi and secure his place as king with the help of Mona, who possesed the ability to speak to their provider and enslaver known as 'Apakinti'. Unexpectedly Mona Vi'aratha sabotaged her brothers plans and proclaimed herself as the new ruler, speaking of visions and being the "Neutral ground between gods". The truth is, after Sadivi was killed Auternus was forced to select a new champion to kill Apakinti's (which by that time was Adhura), and that new champion had to be someone powerful enough to overpower an already well supported king. Mona Vi'Aratha is the first, and hopefully last Champion to be chosen in this fashion. Even if her faith now lies with Auternus, the moons of being a vessel for the dark King seems to have taken a toll on her sanity. Somehow she's still Queen, and hopefully will remain queen for a good few years more.
