PRIDE LORE: The Rising Stones is what they call these pride lands, made up of steep cliffs and waters that drench even the mightiest gods pelt. Near few dare to step in, and try to be welcomed by the king of this land.
Some believe that the king is dead, and rules as if a zombie. Others believe that these lands are fake, and never once existed. However there is truth behind the horror.
The generations of kings are said to have been connected by the spirits themselves, ancestors that have gone by, generation by generation. Starting off with the first king, Rising Moon. Rising Moon is told to be a bland appearing lion, with cream fur and a darker mane. He was ridiculed for his appearance, told you could never hold a pride together without another kings help. He never listened, he didnโt care and he didnโt have too. He always turned his attention to his lionesses, specifically one. Rising Moon had one true love, and that was Mania, his faithful yet rueful queen. However Mania once turned her back to him, and left him for a more handsome and stronger king in the south. Rising Moon didnโt take that very kindly, and went to the ancient mountains that held a sacred stone shaped of a crescent. He had to climb cliffs that not even the strongest lion wouldโve climbed. His scars branded him like cattle, however that never stopped his journey. Once arrived at the cliffs, he entered the cave that housed the stone, grasping it in his greedy paws. The floors quaked, however he didnโt care, he had power finally. The stone turned black as midnight, and a large bursting roar came from the stone. It corrupted Rising Moon, even more than he already was. Bloodshot and cold, Rising Moon had pure white eyes like the rotting dead. He travelled to the southern kings pride, seeking โshelterโ from the thunders. He killed every lion and lioness in the southern kings pride in two nights, leaving only Mania to join him. She denied, calling him a monster and evil, she was killed in cold blood.
The spirits soon found this, and killed Rising Moon. Soon enough, Rising Moons heir to the throne found his corpse. He grieved with his mother, Stumpy Storm, whom never knew about Risings true efforts to take over the prides. Taking comfort in his best friend Siamese, whom he held dearly- oddly similar to Rising and Mania. He lifted the stone that killed his father, placing it over his head, and thatโs where it rests. The stone soon gave a mighty roar, and the spirits attempted to kill Drifting. Unsuccessful in fully getting rid of his own soul, they left the undead lion rule these dead lands. Prepared for the story to start over again, and for the king to go mad once more. But for now, Drifting gathers more power by the day, getting stronger and faster by the second. And every now and again, you can spot him talking to a purple spirit, that appears to have a bland pelt, with a darker mane.
Itโs said that the king kills any cubs that resemble his father, or the dead pride lands of the southern king. Some say that Drifting isnโt who he says, and is Rising in a nice disguise. Weโll never know, but sometimes those ghastly eyes look a little too much li-
