Born to Sir Starlight, Nova spent his cubhood wrestling with his pridemates and exploring the territory. Seeing his boldness and confidence, Starlight believed Nova would grow up to make a good king someday. As Nova grew older, he accompanied the older lions on patrols and learned the lay of the land, impressing his elders with both his quick thinking and his physical prowess. One year, a terrible drought hit the pride's territory. Prey was scarce and desperate scavengers proved to be an increasingly present threat. Sir Starlight had entered his final years, and he feared for the future of his pride. He entrusted Nova with the pride's leadership, charging the younger lion with the task of leading the pride towards the edges of the territory in the hopes of finding a safer, more plentiful location for a new cave. Nova is confident and curious in nature. He is cunning, quick-witted and a natural problem solver. While these traits make him an adept leader, Nova can often be a bit arrogant and sometimes lets his pride get the better of him. Some of the other lions in the pride think he enjoys arguing for the sake of it, and there may be some truth to their suspicions - Nova never backs down from a good challenge. Despite his somewhat inflated ego, Nova generally acts with the interests of his pride in mind, prioritizing their safety and wellbeing - even if it means screwing over outsiders in the process.
