STORY ~ Wip

Coming far from a dry wasteland where he was born. Fawkes was named for his weird sounds he used to make. Being from a small pride he was usually over looked because his weird ears. Others made fun them making him feel alone and unwanted. Once he was old enough he left traveling non stop till he found his place in the world. Many nights and days he traveled thru the dessert struggling from starvation to harsh temperatures. One day a hornbill whom was flying by noticed the starving lion that rested on the sandy lands of the dessert. the hornbill's name was Von Der and he decided to take care the young one by bring him juicy lizards and small prey to eat. Soon Fawkes grew to like the bird and decided he would travel with it from now on even if he thought it was weird. As Fawkes traveled for almost a month in the hot and cold dessert he soon realized Von Der was not on help feeding him but also helped by marking his skin up with strange voodoo like magic. It almost made Fawkes run away but he didn't because Von Der was his only friend and he wish not to loose him at all.

After a year of traveling Fawkes had grown some mane hair around his face. He looked pretty handsome but still young and childlike at the same time. After a year of dessert life his tired worn out paws touched a new type of land. It was grassy and had a view of long fields and some tree life. Being new to the savanna he had to adjust to the new ways of life from hyenas to wildbeast. Fawkes hated hyenas they always gang up on him and tried to attack him but he usually managed to wack them a few times and send them off.

One night when he was really attacked by a pack of hyenas something strange happen. As he was being attacked. Red demon eyes glared out of the darkness as it watched from a far. He couldn't see who it was but he roared out load for some help. Almost about to die the red eyes vanished out site and Fawkes felt really helpless because his hornbill hide because he didn't want Von to get hurt so he sent him away. Just laying there with his eyes slowly closing he waited for his death but realized nothing was happening. After about ten minutes he opened one his eyes and was faced with two red eyes agian.

"AWE!" Fawkes screamed and leaped back and tripped over his hind paws as a small hyena tilted its head a bit to look up at him. As moonlight hit its face Fawkes could see it had no face! it was fully ripped off and blood dripped from its skull undead face.
