Personality Traits: intelligent, reserved, calculating, diplomatic, even-tempered
Physical Traits: Trim, athletic build, mainly obtained through frequently climbing the surrounding cliffs. In fights he relies more on strategy and agility rather than brute strength. He is a rather handsome lion with a full, well kept mane and "beard". Could easily be mistaken as the son of his predecessor.

No one expected Makolo to be king, himself least of all. Before he was even born it had been well established that Savo, his older, half-brother, was heir to the throne. As a cub he grew up with the security of knowing he'd remain in the pride and preoccupied himself with learning all he could about the territory and its surrounding areas. He often spent time with the aging king, Kirrin, and listen to his stories and lessons. It wasn't long after Makolo passed adolescence that Kirrin had summoned him, Savo, and Sol, to his den. The king was dying, and with his last words he declared that Makolo was to be his successor. The pride was shocked by this sudden change, but they honored his decision. It wasn't accepted by everyone, though.
The day after Kirrin's funeral, Savo challenged Makolo for the throne. Even though Makolo didn't want to fight his older brother, he had no choice. No challenge can be turned down. The two fought bitterly, and in the end Makolo rose the victor, and Savo laid defeated and humiliated. Challenging the king was an offense punishable by banishment, and the young lion was ready to accept his sentence. To everyone's surprise, Makolo forgave him and allowed Savo to continue living in the pride, sparring their mother the pain of losing a son. The experience left them both with scars.
As king Makolo is concerned with securing the future of his pride. Rather than focus on expanding his borders, he is focused on using their available resources to the fullest, as well as build alliances with neighboring prides, a practice that seems to be nearly extinct.

Decorations:
Scar: Belly Scratch- Given to him by his older brother, Savo, when he challenged him for the throne.
White Backed Vulture- Fuvu, a vulture who serves as both an informant to the king and an ambassador for his flock. Assigned to ensure the pact started by Kirring would continue to be observed.
Vulture Feathers- Gifted to him when he rose to the throne, these feathers represent the pact formed between him and the committee of vultures that inhabit the kingdom, a tradition going back to the first king.
The Raptor King- A symbol of his royal status, this collection of skulls, feathers, and beads give him a more intimidating yet regal presence.
Vulture Cliffs- The top of the cliffs surrounding the heart of the pridelands, and where the allied vulture committee lives.
