Deathlord of the Jungle

Hatem has forgotten whom his previous pride had been due to being traumatized by the horrors he witnessed as a cub. In fact, he never had a pride; he was born in a canned hunting facility. His parents were captured, and shortly after his birth, brutally murdered by sadistic canned hunters as little Hatem watched. He lived his first year as a cub in a petting zoo, destined to one day face the same terrible fate as his mother and father. One day, he managed to slip through a small rip in a wire fence and ran as far away from the humans as he could. To this day, he has never forgotten the absolute horror he had felt under the care of the humans and he kills all humans unfortunate enough to sight him. After escaping the facility, Hatem was no older than a year and would have died shortly if not for Athena who found him bleeding to death from a wildebeest wound near a waterhole and dragged him back to her parents' den where he was allowed to stay (after profuse pleading on Athena's part) until he recovered. Athena's father was cruel and sparred very roughly with young Hatem. He forced him to feed last, after everyone had picked all the meat off and nothing was left but bones to gnaw on. Fed up with the abuse, Hatem healed as quickly as he could, and once he was back on his feet, he and Athena fled the pride to start their own. Despite being the cold killer he is today, Hatem has always been kind at heart and has a soft side for all of his wives.
