Beyond_Echoes had been looking for more lionesses for his den, no matter, if they were kind like him, or cruel like his father was; he was looking to expand his pride. As he was walking through the trading center, he found a beautiful lioness; Coffee. When he saw her, he was smitten. He purchased her and brought her to his pride. He saw a strong lioness, that intrigued him, he thought about all the different things she could bring to his pride: hunting strategies, training for younger generations, and maybe even an heir.
A future king, just as kind and generous as him. Although, the king was too naive for his own good.
Coffee had given birth to a litter of two, one being lost to the records now, and the other, the heir to Beyond_Echoes' legacy and land: Scar. When Scar had been born, he had a neutral personality, being mischievous at times with the other cubs; pulling pranks or getting them in trouble. However, he kept a kind stance just like his father did. Treating other animals with respect, and giving larger pieces of meat to other lions; it looked very promising that the young prince would become the next king. One that would honour his father's name.
When Scar came to the age of training, he worked relentlessly. Some days he would be triumphant, learning new skills from his uncle, Kavi, and listening carefully to the new information his father would tell him about new alliances and enemies. Although, some days he would come home bruised, and empty-handed. Either way, his father saw true potential in him becoming a future king; a good king.
As he came to his adolescence, he was entrusted with the responsibility to patrol with Kavi; he was able to see the land his father had been taking care of for years, the animals that were protected under his watch, and the people his father called friends. During one of his patrols with Kavi, he saw something that would change his whole life and point of view. Hearing the loud cries for help, he followed them until he saw the most horrific thing in the world. Humans, surrounding animals of all kinds, in large metal cages, holding guns and prodding them. Scar ran in, not caring about how many humans there were, not caring about how much smaller he was compared to his new adversaries. As many lay on the ground, defenseless, Scar was ready to end each of their lives, but Kavi stopped him.
"This isn't right Scar! Your father would never kill unless he absolutely needed to! I can see from this, that you would never, EVER be the same king as your father. You should never be king." Kavi huffed as he opened all the cages and set all the animals free.
This infuriated Scar. These people would never change, they would continue to come for the animals of this land, without any repercussion. No matter how much his father had pushed the humans out, they'd come back later; in larger groups. More animals would be taken, and more animals suffering. For what? For humans to take what they want just cause they could? Scar could never understand how his father could let this go through.
That thought permanently altered Scar's thoughts and ideas. His kind, neutral thoughts changed, he saw that humans were unfair and that animals took advantage. The only person who could fix this; would be him. He got in trouble with his father after Kavi told him about the incident and was not allowed to patrol for a month.
Scar continued this facade of kindness for a long time until his father lay on his deathbed. Even with the new younger males in the den, his father still chose him to be the next king.
"Scar, I believe in you. I believe you'll be the same kind of king I was. An honest king." Beyond_Echoes whispered to his son. Once Scar became the new king. He started to laugh. No one could stop him from his plans now.
"Father, thank you. Thank you for letting me turn this world into what it should be!" he laughed. His father could do nothing but watch in fear as to what he just allowed to happen. "You saw this land as something beautiful, something safe. You saw the people in this land and thought they could never do anything wrong. You never punished those who did unforgivable acts. You turned a blind eye to the bloodshed, to the starvation, to the illness; letting nature take its course." Scar shook his head and looked out to the land.
"Scar... How are you so driven by anger...?" His father uttered with his few breaths. At his name, Scar turned around.
"Scar isn't my name! That was the name of a weak, naive lion. My name... Is ππ₯ππ¬π." He said. "As my first decree as the new king of this land, I hereby punish you for the crimes of negligence Father. No, Beyond_Echoes, your punishment shall be.." He said as he pressed his paw onto his father's throat.
"Death."
