Ravens follow his bloodied steps to feast on the carcasses of kings he leaves in his wake..
Bounding high amidst the prides of the celestial plains, an
angel once wished for something no other star could bring her, something far too grounded for their ever floating incorporeal souls to create, it was.. the simple wish of new life, a cub. And so, taken over by woe and longing, she descended from the moonlit night to meet with a lion, pleading of him to bring her what divinity lacked the capability of giving as she finally received the gift she so sought, a stargraced son. Unfortunately, his claws were far too rooted in the earth and his wings lacked the span to carry his mortal weight all the way to the angelic prides. Overcome by desperation as she wished not to part ways, his mother took him to the highest mountains of the north, wishing to turn him into a star just as she was herself. Her little Polaris. Unfortunately, in doing so she crossed lines never to be crossed, played with magic that was forbidden, and though his weight was just about ready to lift and join her side, the celestial prides frowned in rage. Tearing off her wing and sending her plummeting to the ground below, they spoke their sentence: if she so wished to be with her half blooded son, then let her walk the earth he was born on.
Years later, the two never united again, Odin knew little of his mother or how he came to be, having been far too young to retain any memory of the events he had been conceived in, though he found himself surrounded by a pride who took admiration to his starry wings and accepted him as a blessing sent upon them.
Kinged in adolescence as a naive and kindhearted pacifist, Odin tried as hard as he could to meet their expectations and fill the footsteps they had laid out for him, though patience is a limited resource, and no matter how much he tried, he simply could not fill the role of the angel they made him out to be. Backstabbed and left for dead by his kingdom, he laid broken winged in a pit with nothing but time to ponder over why it was that he had placed others first when all it earned was his own death sentence. With each ruthless blow of the pits, mercy turned further to coldness, a starry rose wilting without sunlight with no one to rely on but its own thorns. It took him years of bloodshed before he was able to claw his way out, bodies piling in his wake, a half mad savage that is but a mere shadow of the starblessed king who had once fallen in, he now travels with a small band of lionesses he gathered along the way through the harsh badlands, moving from place to place with no stable territory or den to call home. Despite his disadvantage in numbers, he who slaughtered his own kingdom hones an alarmingly cunning talent of discovering weaknesses in prides, leading his flock into strategic slaughters of kings to take and revel in their spoils together. Sometimes he may engage in deals or trading, however he is known to bite the hand that feeds. Odin shows little mercy to those who are not by his side and no act of kindness comes without a deadly price, the coldblooded fallen king of the ravens may be no deathlord, but he certainly is a reason not to go out alone at night..
... In other words he disappointed his pride with his pathetic leopon fertility so they threw him away like a pair of used socks and now he is so mad about it he takes it out on every other king like a tantrumming toddler who vows that he definitely loves no one despite surrounding himself with lionesses he cannot help but cuddle and marula party with on a daily basis.
Lore may be deep but we're not here to take ourselves too seriously, okay?
