Ishaq's Den

Sunnan Gorge

Warmth and sand. These are the words that define Sunnan Gorge.
Located in the middle of an xeric shrubland, the canyon was once formed by the force of a great river that carved out and transformed the landscape over time.
The wide canyon now shelters a much smaller stream that flows into several small rocky waterholes before ending its course in an open waterhole, bringing rare and small herds to drink and graze. The caves dug in the rock by the once great river await rehabilitation. Perfect cavities that can protect from the cold of the night and the heat of the day.
The ground is cracked by drought, and acacias survive along the water, offering precious shade. Rains are rare, and shrubs and small trees survive year-round on water flowing through the canyon.
Sunnan Gorge was home to an ancient and well-known pride but for the wrong reasons. Living in isolation and without alliance with neighboring tribes, it was plagued by incest and disease and barely survived under the rule of an evil king.
The tribe slowly died out, and those who could still do so fled the cursed land, never to return. The king was murdered by the last of his female hunters, who had finally turned their backs on him.

The first King of new Sunnan Gorge, Da'rhad, was deeply tied to this land.
Descended from the Lead Huntress lineage of the extinct pride and lulled by the stories of his ancestors, the lion promised himself to return to these lands and make the shrubland an oasis for his own future pride.

Dar'had's reign came to an abrupt end when Ishaq turned against him after months of deceit and treachery.
A lion of impressive stature and undeniable strength, his keen eyes hold an intoxicating mix of arrogance and ambition. Unlike the thoughtful and considerate Dar'had, Ishaq is a lion who demands obedience from those around him. An imposing leader who compels respect through fear, he is not one to forgive mistakes or tolerate weakness.

Long Term Goals
1. Stay a clean pride/account.
2. All lions must have a natural appearance. (No colorbombs. Bases must stay in Cream or Golden). King excluded.
Current base focus: Pecora.
3. Raising to adult and chasing all cubs I don't keep.
4. Have fun I guess?

Sunnan Gorge is greatly inspired by the Namibian region and the Fish River Canyon in terms of landscape.
