ACHLYS is the personification of misery and sorrow in greek Mythology. The source of the "Mist", a force which fogs and blinds mortal eyes, typically in the face of death. Also known as the goddess of deadly poisons. She is depicted on the shield of Hercules and is often represented by a hollow faced, sobbing woman.
