Pride lore (work in progress!!):

In a clearing deep among a jungle, this pride lives. Dens dug beneath trees, constructed among bushes, et cetera. It is known as a refuge, a place for lions do go when chased or otherwise lost from their pride.

It is also a hub of magick: it seems as if it hums through the trees, and sings through the wind itself. Memories become irrelevant, dreams become true. It is hard not to lose who you once were among the melody of the jungle.

Founded by Sundown The Kind after he became of age and was chased from his former pride. After becoming lost in the deep jungle, he spotted the clearing and rested there. That clearing became his de facto camp, and soon the place where his pride lived. He ruled fairly and was remembered fondly among those who were around in his reign. He enjoyed playing with cubs, and was like a father to all that entered his pride. He died peacefully in his sleep after his retirement, happy and painless.

Next came Deceiving The Evil. He was a strange cub, pushing down others and always ahead. He was frail, frequently susceptible to disease, and had a mane too thin to be considered a mane. This caused anger and resentment to boil over, rage to course through his veins. Many remember him poorly, the only reason he stayed king was because of the deep respect they had for his predecessor, Sundown. He died of disease after his many years of ruling, forced into retirement due to his deteriorating state.

And then came Fortuneteller The Shaman. He was found in the outskirts of the jungle, wounded and starving, unable to remember anything before that point. He truly tapped into the magick that forest held, reading the stars and other such omens, allowing him to predict the future. This ability, as well as his appearance, gained him favor with Deceiving, quickly becoming his heir, and then the king of the pride at a very young age. He is known as a courageous, amorous king, remembered best for his magick and... extracurriculars.
