Arael's Den

The land seems desolate and as dry as a bone. You can hardly breathe from all the sand kicking up around you- why do you keep moving? You're unsure. Maybe it's delirium. Maybe it's the innate sense to live. But there's one thing on your mind. Water. Water. WATER. You swear you can hear it. Smell it. But yet- there's nothing. not a soul for miles. Your mind wanders back to your pride. How will your lionesses live without you? Their strong Leader?

They'll probably be fine. Not because they won't miss you- but more so because they're the ones that do the hunting. They'll be alright- you reassure yourself. You lie down against the burning sand. It's coarse texture scratching the dry, burnt skin of your nose that had turned arid. You watch the heatwaves of the deserts dance and morph the surrounding area. This is it. You'll be with your dynasty soon. You can see the sea green nebulas of the heavens. you swear you can touch it- and with a shaking paw, you dare to do so... only to find that the universe is fuzzy. And.. speckled with Rosettes?

Like a phantom- an elegant lion appears. Seemingly formed from the heatwaves. He smells like petrichor and lush jungle.Perhaps with a note of Catnip. His voice speaks over the ringing in your ear.

" You good man? You look as dry as a lizard. "

You attempt to speak- but all that comes out is a horrid, cracking sound. The lion nods- as if understanding the non-words you just wheezed.

" No problem bro. I gottchu."

Like magic- a lush oasis appears- stemming out from the lion as if he had willed the landscape around him from his mind alone. Outstretching for miles and miles. Miles you were certain you just walked.

" Welcome to the Shroud. I'm Arael. Here.. lemme help you into Nomads landing. It's where the wanderers go."

You see him pad into one of the tropical dens. The only question left- is should you follow?
