You run. Your lungs scream, your muscles' pull and push are excruciating, your bones have become wary and tired, yet you continue to run. Packs of cackling hyenas snap at your heels, crashing into one another for a chance at lion meat, drooling and wild-eyed. Your eyes scan the surrounding area for shelter, they scatter over bushes, tall lush grasses, slim brown trees-- there! You pick up your speed, kicking dust into the pack's eyes, feel their clumsy claws tangle in your tail as you move towards a low hole set into the base of an overgrown mountain. The cackling and giggling mock echoes through the rock, narrow tunnel as you crawl through it. The snapping of hyena jaws clack and click behind you. Upon emerging, you find paradise. Tall trees of greens, pinks, and reds, plush grass, and sparkling diamond rivers trickling between water-smoothed stones. Your feet carry you further into the hidden meadow, the soft mud licks at your paws, sticking to your fur. Instead of finding the ruler of this land, you make yourself comfortable in the tall, endless grass, licking at your wounds. The next morning, you find you've been draped in soft silks and sweet-smelling plant cloths, yet no lion is in sight. Cute.
