Pride Lore

Years Ago a young rouge lion named Kokulin found the empty mountin side we called 'The Youvegan" in which he began the pride you are visiting right now.

The pride steadily grew and was always full of energetic cubs and chaos kept mostly in order by Kokulin's queen, Koiasagi. She along with some of the other founding lionesses of the pride became known as the "Matriarchs" and always watched over the goings on of the clan. Each Matriarch left at least one cub to continue their legacy throughout the previous and coming generations.

One day while Kokulin was exploring on a cliff side a meteorite struck the cliff face in front of him and shattered. When the dust cleared Kokulin wandered into the debris and saw three young cubs with glowing fur and features unlike anything he had seen before. Kokulin took those cubs home and he along with the rest of the pride cared for the weak cubs constantly, the cubs did not open their eyes or walk for months and were prone to seizures and passing out, and after months of constant doting the cubs became healthy.

Kokulin was not the only lion to find a fallen meteorite with cubs and many of those space born cubs grew and became a somewhat regular part of the world of Lioden. In The Youvegan the space debris and dust gathered and compacted into a nearly permanent cloud which the space born lions and cubs could walk on that they named "The Astral Cloud", the dust eventually terraformed the rock near the cloud turning it into similarly unnatural glowing materials.

Over time the pride gained special cubs and lions with differences... Some looked like parts of their fur had no color, some looked like they didn't have any color at all. Some of the lions had short tails, more fluff, their teeth were much longer than normal, and they were bigger than others even as cubs. These weird lions didn't seem to be much different than the other lions in the pride, but they heard stories from other Kings and Queens about lions that breed because of them or even cubs dying before learning to fully walk.

The lions of The Youvegan did not suffer from their differences though and settled up in the height of the cliff peaks near the Astral Cloud to live their lives peacefully. One such special lion even was named the heir of King Kokulin and with his passing, became Queen Hâeṣnā.
