Mukundi's Den

Mukundi’s Pride’s territory is located within the southwest corner of Angola, in the top-most strip of the Namib Desert. The pride’s lions sport thick coats and paw pads that protect them from the scorching sand and freezing nights, and primarily hunt smaller prey they can find within the Namib, such as sea birds and rabbits, as well as antelope like Oryxes and seals along the coast when pride members run high. They rely on blood from prey to quench their thirst, but when numbers are high or prey runs low, they may drink from the Cunene river.
