The Caves

Currently the central home of Idris consists of three primary dens. At the forefront is the Hearth, a large and roomy den with a soft dirt flooring scattered with various nests of brush and feathers in which the entirety of the pride is often found sprawling. During the heat - or chill - of the day, they are often lounged together in the center of the great cavern, discussing the events and plannings of the day.

Immediately to the left of the Hearth, connected by a slender corridor of stone and with an opening to the east, is the Adolescents' Den, in which those between five and twenty-three months of age can often be found playing or training. Bones and toys litter the floor in disarray, and cubs of an age tussle and play about. It is not uncommon to see Alicante among the young ones, nipping and growling like a cub himself.

Lastly, deep set into the caverns and well guarded, is the Birthing Den, a fairly small but cozy cavern that is well-padded with thick and soft nests in which pregnant lionesses give birth. The pride's broodmothers are always in attendance.
