Kilometres away from any ocean, in the middle of a Savannah, lived a ferocious queen. No, she wasn’t violent, or deadly, at least- not in the physical way. She had a tongue like a dagger; and this quick-witted queen used it to her advantage.
If you weren’t careful, she’d make fun of your great-grandpaws’ grandpaws without you even realising it; and by the time you did she would be long gone.
And she was that gorgeous, that no one could say anything against her. She had all the sub-males and lioness wrapped around her claws. From an outsider’s point of view, it could seem manipulative or rude. But as a pride mate, Beth Dutton was just the sweet-talking, protector of the territory.
One day, a lost king managed to find his way into the territory; and boy was this a field day for Beth. Before he could introduce his sorry-self, she had interrupted him. “Look Girls,” she would call to her inner-circle of elders, “some poor Queen has lost her youngling!” But she’d say it in such a tone, it just seemed like she was concerned. The male tried to get a word in but she shushed him, and send him away— but not before scolding him like a newly-born cub.
