First Rain's Den

You crawl over the last peak of the Tyrant’s Claw mountains, barely breathing in the thin mountain air. Memories and dreams skid across your mind like shards of ice. Your paw pads tingle with frost, the rough stone beneath you giving no relief. After a moment of relief at the top, the journey down begins. Raked by wind and blizzards, your feet finally meet the fresh fallen snow. Why did you come here? You can barely think, let alone remember. You give in to your overpowering fatigue, crumbling into the snow.

The first thing you see, after flicking frost off your eyelids, is a magnificent lioness is lying next to you, her body as warm as the sun in this harsh weather. She notices you’ve woken up and begins to speak. “Not used to the snow?” she teases in a soft voice. Her coat is thicker than any you’ve seen. “You’re welcome to lie here while you recover.” She purrs and brushes your shoulder to urge you into moving. The strange lioness supports your back and helps you to a bubbling pool of sulfur-smelling water. “These springs emit hot steam, you may want to rest by them for a while.” She presses off you and murmurs “Let me get some help.” After a moment of distinct chatter, a regal looking lioness steps out from the caves. Her claws are sheathed with silver, imbedded into the flesh, her eyes burn the colors of new dawn. Flowers of black and purple weave around her, frostbitten and dying. She hisses under her breath and prowls over slowly, the young lady behind her in a nervous patter. “I am First Snow, leader of this pride. These are my lands.” She pauses, then says more gently “Who are you?” Dipping your head respectfully, you explain your name and situation. “Well, enjoy your stay.” the queen replies, looking placid now. “We will allow you to stay for as long as needed, provided you don’t cause any trouble.” She sounds stern but there’s a hint of a laugh etched on her face. You agree to some rest and she nods. “This is Sunset Moon” First Snow gestures to the young lioness who found you. “Moon, could you show our guest around?” Sunset Moon smiles and calls to you, chattering about the best spots to warm up. You walk with her and explore, spending the rest of your day meeting new lions and learning about the pride. Maybe this could be your new home?

-Add an ebony, onyx, or noctis rosette to my queen in slot 12
