Bloodshed
Our story begins last year in spring.
Two lionesses, sent from their pride in the North, arrive at a small copse of trees by a lake, they have been sent here by their king, Chase, to find a home amongst new company.
These lionesses look about them and greet who is to be their new king.
The darkest of these two sees weakness in this young king's face. An unhealthy balance of secrecy and kindness.
To rebel against her former king, and form a pride of her own, Coalfur plots behind the Silverstar's back.
Soon, the word of fear and dark things reached the ears of everyone but Silverstar, and every kind, loving lioness that once called his land home, turned from it in horror with each new day.
This brought the king much grief and he sought help. From that one, dark-hearted lioness he was supposed to trust.
He wailed his misfortune and woe and howled to the crescent moon at midnight.
Some might call what happened next, absurd. But. You are not the one telling this story.
Spiritwing, a timid lioness brought from a near pride agreed to help Coalfur in her efforts, and performed a dark ritual one moonless night, taking the blood of the pride and the blood of the king and trapping the mingling red life within a patch of ground, far East of the now named Brutal Palace. This allowed the lioness to control the powerful core of earth and construct a timeless prison just for Silverstar. They dragged him toward it, hissing and spitting betrayal, bloodshed, war.
It engulfed the lion and all went silent.
However, not all went well that night. Coalfur was crowned Coalstar, but lionesses were wounded from invisible claws and teeth to the body and the mind.
And so the 'celebrations' began. Every year on that night, Spiritwing takes a little blood and heals the invisible. Forever stitching up the rift in space she agreed to make.

And now, when you walk through that copse of trees to the Palace, not a sound is heard. Not a whisper. Not a rustle. Just fog and cool shadows.

Read about attacking You can attack another lion for one of three reasons - skill, experience and territory. If you are successful with a skill attack, you will gain some experience and a small increase in skill. If you are successful with a territory attack, you will receive some experience and your territory will expand by 1 space. If you are successful with an experience attack, you will receive a big bonus to regular experience gains from a fight. A lion can only be attacked for territory once per day, and can only be attacked once every 2 hours. You cannot attack a lion who is more than 2 levels below yourself.
