You hear the seabreeze howl in your ears, and ruffle your pelt, you swear you hear it call your name. The waves pull you up and down in a seductive lull to sleep before spraying cold water onto you, chiding you to look alive. Pirates die on their feet if they close their eyes too long after all.

Roars rattle your ribs as they sound all around you in an alive shanty. They twist and weave together like a whicker as they get lost in the blue above and below, as countless of its singers have. Uninterrupted it goes until night falls, replaced by cheers and caterwuals and guffaws below deck, the burning warmth of company chasing the chill from your bones.

Cannonfire booms in your ear like a battle drum, and you feel your heart match the rhythm. You don't remember grabbing your cutlass, or jumping into the fray. All you know is you surge forward lined by mirror images of you, linked by something deeper than your mind can muster. Heart, body and soul branded by the life only you know.
"And if you drink, by Bast may you drink with me!"
And, somehow both above it all and mixed together, rings a voice that you'd follow to the edge of the seas, as she would follow her crew.
