Deiros's Den

Storyline

With the hush of a nearby waterfall soothing your ears whilst you rested your paws, your eyes were captivated by a beautiful view. Trees created a canopy of green below, and the sky was tinted with pink clouds as the sun sank to the horizon. Your heart felt at peace here despite the raging rabies disease and demons sprout across the lands beyond this.. Oasis? That’s one way to put it. You swore you could hear the angels sing from this very cliff. A smile was pulled to your maw before you were interrupted by the approaching paw steps of a lioness.

“These lands,” She began. With no introduction it was almost as if she knew you on a deeper level although you’ve never seen this lioness before in your life. With a contempt sigh she continued, “Alway’s so breathtaking. Your name?” Inquired she. Her pelt was black with markings of a beautiful blue hue, and her eyes looked soft like cotton. Accompanied by her was a small growling cub, playfully pouncing at the lionesses swaying tail.

You tell her your name. She can sense your unease, and takes a seat to lessen it.

“[Name].. Beautiful,” She cooed. “I’m Deena, one of the few lionesses remaining from Bartholomew’s reign…” The name Bartholomew seems to bring quite the saddened expression from her. Taking note of this, you sit as well. Deena picks her head up and allows her eyes to scan the forest below.

“The dawn of my pride, oh how I remember it.. Many moons upon moons ago.” She hummed softly. Her eyes turned to the setting sun and comfort seemed to wash over her. “Ah, Phatia..” Deena sighs softly; A smile on her maw. Confusion riddled your face as you stared at this lioness. What, was she delusional? Deena took note of this and let out a light giggle.

“Oh, right.. Phatia, our Goddess of Dreams. She’s a playful thing… A trickster. Night.” Deena rises to her paws to turn to the darkened sky to the east, jutting her head towards the rising moon. “She taunts our forest with her games, and fills our minds with pictures either comfortable or horrid.” This ‘Phatia’ character seemed like quite the bitch in your mind. Deena shook her head. Could she read your thoughts? Surely not. Turning once more, she shifted her focus to the setting sun. Her cub who continued its playful chase failed to pounce on her tail, fumbling past. The youngin shifts its pursuit to an innocent butterfly that had the bad luck to cross her path.

“And her sister; Oris, our Goddess of Light… She’s orderly, keeps balance between all living things. Stern… Thorough. She maintains our day fairly.” To your ignorance, this whole story felt bogus. To each their own? Mayhaps. “They each bless our pride with their divinity, and bring to us healthy cubs each birth. Our king, Deiros, has danced amongst their stars- Or so he says.” That last add-on seemed as if Deena herself couldn’t believe their king’s words.

“Why yes, I do say.” Spoke Deiros. Where the hell did he come from? You didn’t hear him approaching- Although it was hard to hear anything over this lionesses jibber jabbering. “And what I say is truth. You’re not boring this young lion with your stories again, are you?” He cooed playfully to Deena. Turning to you, his tone drops more serious. “What may we help you with??”
