Pride of one thousand voices

A lioness seemed to be padding around the newly claimed territory, She's roamed this area for many years, Now a pride seemed to be sticking around. With great annoyance she decides to sneak around. Her body is low on the ground but her eyes are looking everywhere. That's when she saw a male lion, who seemed to be the king of this pride. He was bossing around lionesses, not in the way a king should. More as if he was...bullying bossing? If that even makes sense.

She squinted her eyes at the sight, she grew closer making sure to stay down wind. She saw many other lionesses licking their lips. The king seemed to be eating the kill. That was normal but the fact the lionesses looked as if they were starved weren't. She growled for a second, she was heard by the king who stood up. She stood up walking towards the king, with her claws extended and teeth bared she gave a nasty snarl. She could care less about how one ruled their pride, but she was beyond pissed that they moved in on her home.

" Hey, big guy not to be that lioness but you're in my territory "

She spoke boldly, The king glanced at the lioness and began walking up to her. None of his lionesses seemed to join him. They all looked weak and fragile anyways. The lioness let out a nasty snarl as the king grew closer. He wasn’t saying anything, but he was tense and began charging at her. She quickly began attacking him, she could feel her skin getting pulled. She continued to claw at the king's face. She stopped when the king seemed to freeze. Standing up she towered above the coward king. A smirk fell on the lone lioness face, she hit him in the head with her claws. They boldly let out a sigh, when the sigh came so did a loud roar.

“ Leave this pride! Never return or I will wear your pelt! “

She threatened, and the king ran…well ex king. She turned around at the weak lionesses who seemed lost and confused. They didn’t deserve to suffer, well she could stay for a bit. Protect them until they are back on their feet. Little did she know she fell deeply in love with the pride and all the lionesses. She didn’t want to stay forever though, she chose an adolescent who showed great promise to lead the pride when she decided to leave or retire. The adolescent wasn't originally from the pride, they were kidnapped by the ex-king. A groan escaped their throat. They learned about how the king kidnapped almost all of them and used them. She felt sorry for those who passed, their voices would not be left flowing through the sky. That's when she came up with the name for the pride. The pride of one thousand voices to those who fell. She smiled at the thought of this pride.

“ I guess, I will stay and protect this pride. I will not stay forever though, just until everyone here is back on their feet and happy. You can call me Dionne “

The lionesses seemed unsure, although this lioness known as Dionne defeated the pride’s old king everyone knew that he was a coward and weak. How would Dionne do against a real challenge? Not that the pride lionesses had much of a chance with her. They all seemed to like this idea. A cub stepped up who was rather chubby, actually most of the cubs seemed chubby. Probably due to all the milk from their moms. The cub looked Dionne in the eyes, Dionne looked back at the cub bending down. The cub then spoke up.

“ I want to thank you for saving me from that cruel lion, He stole me from my old pride. You can call me Hecta. “

The cub spoke, she looked the cub up and down nodding. This cub wasn’t scared unlike the lionesses. Maybe the cubs hadn’t seen true terror yet. She looked back at the lionesses standing up. She turned around and began walking. The lionesses and cubs walked behind her, a bit unsure. Hecta on the other hand was proudly walking next to her. She would put this cub under her wing.
