Benaiah's Den

Plot: The pride lands around your lead are scorned, fire still crackled from inside the trees around them and over their head. Embers floating by and stinging their fur as others catch on whatever long grass hadn't been burnt away

Your lead sneezes, causing ash to fly up around them, the ground was covered in it and their paws paid the price. The haze blood their sight and made their eyes water, this felt like hell. They tried to smell, hoping to find a way out, however that caused their lungs to burn. Sooner or later your lead can't take it and the lack of air leads to them passing out for an unknown amount of time

All they know is that by the time they awake, the haze that was once illuminated by the sun, was now a dark fog with pops of roaring fires in the not too far distance, but not all hope is lost. Your lead begins to look around, they were lost Yes, but the place they awoke was different. As he inspected the small burns on his paw pads, he noticed small shoots of grass peeking from beneath the inch thick layers of ash. Beside him there was a skull of water as a lion walked over with a small critter in its mouth, his ghostly appearance made you fear you had died but he recognizes the look and carefully laid the meal down

Stranger: Worry not, I am of the living, same as you
His tail flopped, somehow his angelic white fur wasn't smudged by the ash, the only noticable affliction to his otherworldly coat was the fresh unhealing burns to his paws. As your lead examines the fellow males body and still thin main the Male's eyes shift over to the water

Stranger: Best you drink now and we send you back on your way....oh, my apologies. I am Roast , I'll be your life line

And with that he fell silent till your lead was strong enough to walk, he walked slightly ahead, each step was confident and unwavering, his tail swaying opposite left to right with each step. The slick coat across his body fload into long wispy hairs on his tail, tummy and still shy mane, once you two had made it out of the fog he stopped

Roast: Well...this is it, I say this kindly brave stranger, I hope to never see you again...it's safer that way

Before your lead could ask why it was a pride would live in a place like this, the Male had seemingly vanished into the smog itself, leaving your lead wondering if the male was ever real to start with. But the blood in his teeth was a sure sign someone had saved him, right?
