Her Injury
In a decisive battle against a rival pride, Heizore was a young warrior who fought valiantly alongside her fellow pride members. The battle was fierce and desperate, and Heizore played a crucial role in leading her pride and coordinating their efforts. In the heat of the combat, Heizore faced a particularly vicious enemy, a large and aggressive lioness who was a key figure in the opposing pride named Vespera During the clash, Heizore's vocal cords were severely damaged. It happened when the rival lioness, in a moment of brutality, targeted Heizore’s throat in an attempt to incapacitate her. The injury was inflicted with a combination of savage bites and slashing claws, leading to significant damage to Heizore's vocal apparatus.
Following the eruption, a chain reaction of disasters ensued. Earthquakes, triggered by the seismic activity of the volcanic eruption, shattered infrastructure worldwide. Coastal regions were devastated by tsunamis, and the skies were perpetually choked with volcanic ash, leading to the phenomenon known as the “Nuclear Winter.” This term, borrowed from old human fears, accurately described the bleak and freezing conditions that enveloped the planet.
The Human Exodus
As the world grew colder and darker, humanity struggled to adapt. Technological advancements failed to counteract the severe climate change, and resources dwindled. Governments collapsed, and civilization as it was known fell into chaos. The remaining humans either perished or retreated into underground bunkers and metro systems, seeking refuge from the relentless cold and the surface's dangerous conditions.
The human exodus left cities abandoned, their once-bustling streets now desolate and covered in ice and snow. Wildlife that could adapt began to reclaim these urban landscapes, with the pride among those that migrated into these new territories.

The Overhang
The Overhang stands as the central hub of the Pride. Its crumbling walls and broken windows barely provide shelter from the relentless cold, but it offers a strategic advantage. The pride has fortified the building with makeshift barriers and hidden entrances, creating a stronghold against external threats.
Inside, the ground floor is a communal area where the lions gather, share warmth, and plan their next moves. The higher floors are reserved for rest and recuperation, with each level offering a slightly better vantage point to monitor the surrounding area. Heizore and Nebula occupy the top floor.
The Nursery
Connected to The Overhang is The Nursery, a warm, sheltered haven where the pride's youngest members are cared for. This building, once an office complex, has been repurposed into a nurturing environment. The walls are insulated with fur and scavenged materials, and a central fire provides much-needed warmth.
The Nursery is a place of hope and continuity. Lionesses watch over the cubs, teaching them the ways of survival and the history of their pride. Heizore’s presence here is frequent, her protective gaze ensuring the future of the Pride.
The Rest Point
The Rest Point is a sturdy, weathered building adjacent to The Overhang, serving as the quarters for the submales of the pride. It is a place where they find rest and camaraderie, away from the constant vigilance required in the other shelters. The submales have divided the space into personal quarters.
A central fire burns steadily within The Rest Point, around which the sub-males gather to share stories, meals, and plans.
The Pride seems wary but is open to visitors, and if they deem them kind they often almost always leave with gifts
