Golden Winds Pride

Welcome to the Golden Winds Pride, hidden under the roots of a truly massive baobab tree is the main pride den. There are lionesses and their cubs in the the dens below while the branches above are covered in countless claw marks that lead to where the huntresses are lounging above. Those without cubs find relief from the heat of the day here.

"Come in," One elderly lioness purrs, beckoning you closer. "You must be quite curious to linger so long, do you wish to know our ways? Very well then... Pay close attention, young lion."

There are laws in this pride, laws that they have learned over the generations. Most are what all prides follow, however...there are a few exclusive to this pride alone.

First, only painted pelts blessed by the gods and ancestors may remain in these lands. Purples, pinks, blues, reds, and yellows. The beauty of flowers, sunsets, night skies, winter ice, and heavenly auras grace the pelts of the lions of this pride. Story goes that the Golden Winds pride are blessed by their ancestors to carry the colors of the skies and flowers, colors their prey cannot see.

Those with plain boring colors of natural lions that are native to these lands, the Golden Winds pride see those lions as unworthy to dwell in their home. Any trespassers are escorted to the nature reserve nearby, forbidden from returning. For if they were chased off their lands...there is the chance that those lions would just wind up back on the territory. This cannot happen.

Inbreeding is strictly forbidden. Lions that join the pride must have their blood read by the priestesses of the pride to make sure that their blood line is clean and pure. No matter how far back it occurred, even a single instance of inbreeding means that lion is chased from their lands. Even males that are not part of their pride are heavily judged by the females of the Golden Winds pride before even considering accepting them as mates.
